PRESIDENT KAGAME APPOINTS HARERIMANA AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE TO INDONESIA

25 March 2023 - H.E. President Paul Kagame appointed Sheikh Abdul Karim Harerimana as Rwanda’s Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Indonesia.

Rwanda’s plan to open an embassy in Indonesia was announced in November 2022 by H.E. President Kagame during a meeting with H.E. President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.

On this occasion, H.E. President Kagame expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's assistance in increasing capacity building for Rwanda.

H.E. President Jokowi said he would like to see the relations between Indonesia and Africa reflected in strong economic cooperation and proposed the establishment of a trade agreement between Indonesia and Rwanda.

Rwanda’s Ambassador to Indonesia hitherto had residence in Singapore.
