HONG KONG: HIGH COMMISSIONER UWIHANGANYE WOOS ASIAN INVESTORS

Hong Kong, 13 October 2023 - High Commissioner Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye met Asia’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Hong Kong and attended the 2023 Annual Forum of Raffles Family Office, a private wealth management advisory firm headquartered in Hong Kong.

In a panel discussion on strategies underpinning the longevity of Asian, Middle Eastern and African family enterprises, High Commissioner Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye spoke about Rwanda’s efforts to improve the business environment and urged them to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the country and the African continent in general.

“Rwanda is one of the safest countries in the world. It is very efficient and is one of the least corrupt. In terms of ease of doing business, it is ahead of many countries globally”, High Commissioner Uwihanganye noted.

Raffles Family Office is the largest multi-family office in Southeast Asia, managing approximately $10 billion in assets for hundreds of ultra-high-net worth individuals worldwide.

Speaking at the panel discussion, which also included Chi-man Kwan, co-founder and CEO of Raffles Family Office, the High Commissioner said the government of Rwanda has positioned the country as a launching pad for investment in Africa and offers numerous incentives for companies looking to establish their headquarters in Rwanda.

He also noted that, despite fragmented markets and regulations, Africa offers great potential for business and investment and is a place where entrepreneurs and businesspeople can make high profits.

He called on Raffles Family Office to lead the way and show other Asian investors that there are opportunities in Africa and that the financial returns are even better.
