East African Tourist Visa

ELIGIBILITY

A foreigner who wants to visit simultaneously the Republic of Kenya, Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Uganda for tourism.

The holder of the East Africa Tourist Visa (V-11) must first enter from the country that issued the visa and can then proceed to travel within the two other countries without applying for another visa or paying another visa fee.

The holder shall also be allowed to move out of the Republic of Kenya, Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Uganda; and return without having to pay for another visa. This will only be applicable in the period of 90 days.


REQUIREMENTS

Travel Documents - Ensure that your passport has a validity of at least 6 months on the day of entry in Rwanda.

Foreigners who reside in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda do not have to pay for this visa. They are required to request for an interstate pass at the Immigration counters while exiting their country of residence to any of the 2 other countries.

Health Requirements - Travellers coming to Rwanda from Yellow Fever endemic countries and countries with active Yellow fever transmission outbreak must present a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate upon arrival.

TO APPLY

The East African Tourist Visa can be obtained upon arrival at Rwanda after payment of the prescribed fee, without prior application. Please note that Rwanda has to be the first destination in order for the Rwanda-issued Visa to be valid.

Apply for the East African Tourist Visa online prior to arrival at IREMBO’s ‘Visa Application’. Processing of the application will take seven (7) working days.

All enquiries about online visa applications should be directed to the Directorate General of Immigration & Emigration in Kigali, Rwanda. We do not handle online applications at the High Commission
